I have four generations of strong and impactful women in my life. My great-grandmother is 96, my grandmother is 76, my mom is 56, and I am 26. With there being a 70-year age gap between me and my great-grandmother and 60 between me and my grandmother, there are a lot of things that they don’t understand about my generation and vice versa. But there is one thing that, despite our ages, we all love to come together to gush about like we’re all 16 again, and that’s skincare — more specifically, Mario Badescu’s Rose Water Facial Spray

The multi-purpose spray comes in four scents with different benefits. There's the original herbs and rose water, cucumber and green tea, chamomile and lavender, sage and orange blossom, and coconut water. The rose water spray is my family's go-to, and it can be used on the face, neck, and hair; it’s infused with rose, gardenia, aloe vera, and thyme extract, which leaves skin feeling soothed and refreshed while looking even and radiant. It’s also lightly scented with floral notes, making for a relaxing, aromatic experience with every use.

If that sounds good to you, you’ll love this news: The spray is currently just $8 until tonight during Amazon’s October Prime Day.

If you’re wondering how four generations of women started using the same rosewater spray, it’s thanks to my grandma. She said she came across an article where Martha Stewart mentioned being a fan of Mario Badescu’s Vitamin C Serum, which put the brand on her radar. After testing (and immediately falling in love with) the rosewater facial spray, she bought enough bottles for my great-grandmother, my mom, and I because she knew if she loved it, we would, too. And she wasn’t wrong.

What I love is that we all use the spray differently. My mom uses it in place of a toner and setting spray in the morning, so she applies it after cleansing her face and again after applying her makeup. She said it makes her skin look “glowy but not oily,” and that it offers “a boost of hydration” to her skin throughout the day that helps her makeup stay put.

My grandmother is so dedicated to the Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray that she keeps several bottles of it throughout her house, as well as a travel size in all of her purses. She says it’s “great in the cooler months” because it keeps her skin from drying out. And since she is my great-grandmother's caregiver, she uses it on her in the morning and evening and whenever her  “skin feels tight.”

Like my mom, I use the rose-infused spray as a toner after I cleanse my face and spray down my neck. I also use it on my locs to keep them moisturized.. After I started spraying my hair with the rose water in the morning and evening, I noticed that it feels softer and my scalp isn’t itchy or irritated — plus, it always smells nice thanks to the light floral scent.
