I’ve always had mixed feelings about bralettes. In theory, they are a genius solution to one of the biggest problems many women have with bras: With no underwire and little structure, they are generally more comfortable. However, for anyone who wears a C cup or larger — or has less-than-perky breasts — bralettes generally fail to offer ample support or give your breasts a much-needed boost. However, after I noticed a lot of hype surrounding Harper Wilde’s best selling Bliss Bra, I decided to give it a whirl… and I have been living in the ultra-comfy and surprisingly supportive bralette ever since. 

Harper Wilde makes a few styles of Bliss bra. There’s the OG Bliss Bralette with a dipped neck and thick straps, the Bliss Triangle Bralette, which has more of a V-neck and thinner straps and the Bliss Scoop Bralette, with a scoop neck and thin straps. I tried the scoop neck, as I prefer a thinner strap over thick. At the time I ordered the bra, I was a 36D, so I opted for the large. However, now that I am down to a 34C, I would instead get the medium. The brand offers a pretty straightforward sizing chart, which runs from an XS to 4XL, making the bra quite size inclusive. Just for a point of reference, XS fits up to a 30D, while a 4XL will fit up to a 44H or 46G.

When the bralette arrived, I took it out of the packaging and thought to myself: There is no way this is going to be supportive enough. I slid it on anyway and was actually quite shocked by the fit. Not only did it offer support, but actually gave the ladies a much-needed lift with the help of a clever band that sits underneath the boobs. The thin straps were also adjustable, which isn’t always the case with bralettes, so that was a plus. One really amazing design detail? No uni-boob. Bralettes often leave you with, well, a smooshed-together chest, which is why many women reserve them for lounging around the house. However, the cups of the Bliss bra are slightly molded to hold the girls on their own, without flattening them. Last but not least, the fabric — a breathable, ultra-soft, and silky microfiber — offered a truly second skin feel.

Plus, while most bralettes stretch out and lose their shape after wearing and washing them for a while, this Harper Wilde one doesn’t. I have been wearing mine for five months nearly every single day and throwing it in the washer and dryer — and guess what? It still fits and looks the same as that very first day, without any pilling.
