Following a collision involving two pickup trucks and a tractor trailer on Wednesday morning, one man died.
Philip Richard Konopka, 42, of Grayson was slain on Wednesday shortly after 8 a.m., according to Kentucky State Police.
According to the police, a pickup truck was heading near a southbound tractor trailer on the AA Highway when it crossed into the center lane.
KSP claims that Konopka was following the semi.
The semi-truck’s driver tried to avoid a collision, but the northbound pickup struck the side of the tractor-trailer, sending it spinning out of control and into Konopka’s truck.

On Wednesday, the AA was closed for a number of hours but has since reopened as of 4 p.m.
The health of the southbound pickup’s driver, who was flown to Cabell-Huntington Hospital, is unknown.
There were no injuries to the tractor-trailer’s driver.
